Boseman's Financial Problems Effect Poor Latino Family in Brunswick County

Seems that property Senator Boseman received as payment from a drug dealer she represented was sold in 2005. The home located at 2096 Old Mill Creek Road SE in Winnabow was sold to Javiere Castillo and financed by Boseman for a downpayment along with monthly payments made to Boseman of principle, interest and mortgage insurance. The deed was never turned over to Castillo, instead this past spring it was turned over to Sen. Boseman's partner Crystal Medlin when Boseman began hiding all of her property because of Boseman's massive financial problems. In Brunswick County Superior Court, a hearing is scheduled for Nov. 13 on the property at 2096 Old Mill Creek Road SE in Winnabow. Court records show Boseman owes about $40,000 on that property. That property is scheduled for sale Dec. 10 at the Brunswick County Courthouse in Bolivia. Boseman and Medlin are both listed on the foreclosure documents.

The family that bought the house found that the property was in foreclosure by reading an article in the Wilmington Star News.

The family living there consists of 3 generations of Castillo's and all may be out on the streets shortly unless something is done immediately.

Senator Boseman was unable to be reached in her million dollar home in Landfall.

More on this later.

Clean It Up, you made me start thinking so I did some checking and this is what I found which poses more questions.

Who was the drug dealer? Naylor or a relative? Because I traced this property back and there are 3 tracts. Known as "Floyd Hickman Tract 1, 2, & 3"
.
Tract 1- Julia Boseman prepared the deed for Tract 1, transferred from George Byron Naylor to Jennifer Wood and William Phelps on March 9, 2001.

Tract 2 & 3 – Also on March 9, 2001 Julia Boseman prepared and filed a deed for the "Floyd Hickman Tract 2 & 3 from George Byron Naylor to Julia Boseman and Geannine Boyette. (Boyette was her law partner at the time.)

Tract 2 sold - On June 25, 2002 Julia Boseman filed a deed transferring "Tract 2" from Julia Boseman & Geannine Boyette to Christopher Dennis Cashner.

Tract 3 transferred - January 21, 2004, a deed prepared by Julia Boseman was filed transferring "Tract 3" from Geannine Boyette to Julia Boseman.

Loan – On February 28, 2005, there was a "Deed of Trust" otherwise known as a mortgage filed by Julia Boseman borrowing $39,800 on Tract 3 (which is Mr. Castillo doublewide at 2906 Old Mill Creek Road).

So this leads me to some questions.

Question 1 - If Naylor transferred this property to Boseman & Boyette then Boyette also made money from the drug dealer. Who represented the drug dealer, Boseman or Boyette? Or Both? Are they still law partners?

Question 2 - If Julia Boseman secured a loan for $39,800 on February 28, 2005 was this before or after the house was sold to this pour Latino family? Is it legal to take out a loan after it's sold to someone else?

Question 3 - Did the Latino family, Castillo ever sign a "Deed of Trust" to Boseman for the loan on the property? If so when and why didn't Boseman record the loan?

Question 4 - If Castillo signed a "Deed of Trust" to Boseman before she took out her loan, shouldn't she have used the mortgage as collateral instead of the property?

I did more checking in New Hanover County and found that Julia Boseman closed on her office at the Arboretum on Oleander drive for $300,000. She also closed on her house at 1526 Portsmouth Place for $1,000,000 on 6/14/05 and a boat slip on 6/20/05. Do you know when the Castillo’s bought the doublewide from Boseman and how much was their down payment? It looks like Boseman mortgaged the Brunswick County doublewide for $40,000 and in addition took Mr. Castillo’s down payment and used it as some of the down payment on her $1,000,000 mansion and boat slip.

Thank you Clean It Up! This is a terrible situation for the Castillo family!! Someone needs to contact the North Carolina Bar to have this investigated. This is outrageous that an educated North Carolina Attorney who took an oath to uphold the law would take advantage of a poor less fortunate family while she lives in her million dollar mansion!

Sorry, I left out the date. Julia Boseman closed on her $300,000 office on 5/2/2005.

Good Grief! This family needs to be interviewed by a TV reporter immediately! Also, did the drug dealer get off? I mean, doesn't the government usually seize the property of drug dealers? Why would a real estate attorney represent a drug dealer? It sounds like to me, Julia hoodwinked an unsuspecting migrant family by taking their money and running.

We have been contacted by a news organization and have given what little information we have regarding this. This apparently just came to the attention of the Castillos on Friday. According to a neighbor that spoke with me today the house is full of children and that the family is here legally.

This story has not yet been confirmed, several things are missing, no comment from Boseman or her campaign, no document published regarding sale, law enforcement is not commenting.

Just heard the family myself. Story confirmed.

If this is true everyone of us should grab a bucket of tar and a sack of feathers and run that ragged whore right out of town. The idea that she was attempting to defraud a poor family out of a home is beyond forgivable. Nothing she could say or do in Raleigh would compensate for something so vicious as to steal a family's dream from them. A POOR FAMILY"S DREAM. A family that barely speaks english, has no hope in understanding the complexities of the situation. A family that TRUSTED an elected official.

I swear to God I am so tempted to drive out to the family at 2906 Old MIll Creek and talk them into going to the police.

Not giving the man a deed, that's bad enough, but now that he is losing his home, to not work out something to pay off the $40,000 on the note while living in a million dollar house in Landfall.... oh my God tar and feather her!

Are you sure the payments were principle, interest and mortgage insurance? Or was it principle, interest, and mortgage ESCROW payments?

It is true...I have a copy of the contract for purchase!! Julia Boseman (seller) and Javier and Maria Costillo (buyer)- purchase price $55,000 with a $5000.00 down payment. Payment includes principle, interest, and escrow. I hope the NC bar investigates this escrow account!!!
I'm disgusted!

Anyone see the WWAYTV3 news?

Boseman knows that the campaign has been nasty and is ready for Election Day to get here. "It's been a difficult campaign. I think the race that my opponent did was probably the nastiest one I've ever seen or been through, but we have people here who are concentrating on the issues an know my record, and that's what we are hoping for on election day."

What the crap is this b*tch talking about? Michael Lee hasn't done a damn thing, Julia has. It is her record that is being brought to light. Things like scamming a mexican out of his money is a fact.

Id say this website is pretty important. I know it changed the votes of some friends of mine.

Nasty, the only thing nasty about this campaign is HER, who she is and what she does.
